Huckleberry - 17" hand-dyed mohair Artist Bear by Emma's Bears - OOAK
By Emma and Mark Nicholson
Huckleberry is the very first bear made in our newest design. His shapes get a little lost under all of those gorgeous curls, but he is basically a very sturdy, chubby little fellow with a big pot-belly, stumpy limbs and a generous muzzle.
Huckleberry is cut from a rather odd, and very unique piece of hand-dyed mohair. This colour was achieved by mixing all the leftover pigment from our last rainbow-dye batch. The resulting colour is very hard to describe, and varies in intensity over the pile. The backing is much darker then the pile, almost a berry/mahogany/eggplant/mushroom tone. It also looks quite different depending on whether Huckleberry is sitting inside or outside.
He is fully T-pin jointed and well stuffed with a mix of polyfill and steel shot. He features our 3-D shaped peek-a-boo style toes and fingers with some inktense shading and highlighting. His nose has been hand embroidered in perle cotton and he looks out through petite black glass eyes. He wears a simple chunky glass lampwork heart pendant around his neck that appears black from a distance, bit is actually a very dark version of the same eggplant/mahogany colour as his fur backing.
Huckleberry is a one of a kind artist bear.
